This is the kickoff meeting for those coordinating Connecticut’s grassroots campaign to reduce pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions from our state’s transportation sector. CT has fallen behind partner states in these efforts, and it is critical that we catch up to meet the state’s emission reduction goals.
As Greta Thunberg so concisely stated – “Adults keep saying: We owe it to the young people to give them hope.” But I don’t want your hope. I don’t want you to be hopeful. I want you to panic. I want you to feel the fear I feel every day. And then I want you to act.”
Let us meet and act, together, and with a focus on quickly and equitably reducing pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions in Connecticut and in collaboration with the other states in the Transportation Climate Initiate group of Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
This group will meet monthly, and has budget to host two larger events (80-100 attendees) in the state. We’ll work together to determine where to focus the efforts of our organizing.
